This is not the first time that a fake software has compromised computers, Cybercriminals who create and distribute fake antiviruses such as the WindowsMonitor have been making big money out of their malware and so the Window Monitor malware is just a variation of previously released fake softwares that include the likes of the rogue Cloud Protection and Security Guard.

The Windows Monitor fake antivirus makes it appear that it has detected several issues in your computer by producing fake system scans. These are often followed by popup adverts that market the
"Windows Monitor". The malware makes it appear that in order for the computer issues to be fixed, one must pay for the Windows Monitor activation or buy the Windows Monitor license.

If you were unfortunate to have been lured by this Windows Monitor rogue into handing out your credit card information to pay for the software, read this post on how to get your money back: Your credit card and fake antiviruses.
