Fake Scanner

A fake scanner virus is trying to deceive computer users. Beware of this fake Scanner system optimization tool. Like most rogue softwares, this Scanner virus pretends to be a legitimate computer program so it can make people spend money on the software that it promotes. This fake windows scanner virus is a clone of scan disk and HDD doctor viruses.




Fake scanner software symptoms

This fake scanner application may look like a legitimate computer software but this application is characterized by its ability to prevent computer users to access the internet. This fake scanner program may also bombard the PC with deceitful alerts and google browser redirects. Fake scanner removal is necessary.

Scanner removal: How to remove Scanner from an infected computer:


* Reboot your computer in Safe mode with networking. Do this by restarting your PC and pressing the F8 key after hearing your computer beep on startup. Once the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe mode with networking and then press ENTER.

* Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and use as fake scanner virus remove tool.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a check-mark is placed next to the following:

Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware

* Click Finish.
* If an update is found, Malbytes anti malware will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. Reboot your computer if prompted.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
