HDD Recovery

Once your computer has gotten this fake defrag hdd recovery virus, you may notice that you are constantly bombarded by windows hdd recovery security alerts. This post provides info on how to remove hdd recovery malware.

The fake hdd recovery virus
The "hdd recovery" virus aka hdd recover virus, is a clone of the following rogue degrag softwares: HDD rescue virus and the HDD Plus. This hdd recovery fake program is also as deceitful. It causes your computer to flash "hdd recovery" malware - generated popups so you will get the so called full version of the HDDrecovery program that it promotes. Be warned that this hdd recovery defrag cannot optimize efficiency of your computer. This program is aptly called the hddrecovery malware.



How to get rid of the hdd recovery virus:
Reboot your hddrecovery virus infected computer in “Safe Mode with Networking. Do this by restarting your PC and pressing the F8 key after hearing your computer beep on startup. Once the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe mode with networking and then press ENTER.

Download, save and run the ATF Cleaner by Atribune. Under Main choose, Select All & click the Empty Selected button. Download Malwarebytes to use as hdd recovery virus removal tool. * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.

* At the end, be sure a check-mark is placed next to the following: Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
* Click Finish.


* If an update is found, Malbytes anti malware will download and install the latest version. * Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. Reboot your computer if prompted.
