The TotalProtectAV pro may appear to have detected multiple threats in your computer. It may show conficker.b worm, stuxnet.a infection, adware, trojans and viruses are found in your files. This is then followed by adverts to activate a copy of the Total Protect 2011 Antivirus.

Do not be deceived, this program is aptly called the fake total protect antivirus because this malware merely duplicates the characteristics of legitimate security tools so the rogue software's activation code will be easily bought by non suspecting computer users.

Total Protect Removal: How to remove Totalprotect virus


  • * Reboot your computer in Safe mode with networking. Do this by restarting your PC and pressing the F8 key after hearing your computer beep on startup. Once the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe mode with networking and then press ENTER.
    * Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.
    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * At the end, be sure a check-mark is placed next to the following:
    Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    * Click Finish.
    * If an update is found, Malbytes anti malware will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. Reboot your computer if prompted.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. The protect total virus should now be gone.
