Facebook Deleting Univerified Accounts Profiles

I must know if this is a scam or not. There is a message that the Facebook owner officially announced that all unverified accounts will be deleted if you don't do something.

I went on my wall and I got a post from my friend that said "OOOOMMMGGG...Facebook Deleting all acounts that are not verified before may 6th.So soon Verify your account before it gets deleted" and it said click here to verify... is it a scam? (: I just wanted to make sure.
